State Rep. Ben Frederick today personally called upon Gov. Whitmer to end the statewide indoor dining ban and allow local restaurants to create a safe dining experience for their patrons.
Frederick, of Owosso, sent the governor a letter imploring her to end the statewide ban on dine-in options for Michiganders immediately.
“The stories of hardship are everywhere,” Frederick said in the letter. “Restaurant employees trying to provide for themselves and their children are at a financial breaking point. Families whose livelihoods revolve around operating a small restaurant are draining life savings, struggling to make ends meet, and getting in deeper financial trouble every single day that statewide restrictions continue.” A full copy of Frederick’s letter is attached.
A bipartisan group of state representatives today joined with local health experts in encouraging all Michigan residents to actively energize, and be responsible for, the readiness of their own immune systems.
“Rather than engaging on a data-driven approach I worked with health experts to put forward last year or signal any return to the phased plan she herself laid out in the MI Safe Start Plan, the governor appears to be making things up on the fly.”
